Alarm Permits are required by law in some cities in Oklahoma, mostly those with larger populations. The reason being is that 90% of alarms that go off are determined to be false alarms, and permits are a way to help those cities in the way the alarms are handled. In Oklahoma, police will always respond if their is a person on site of where an alarm is coming from. IF you do not have a permit and are in a city where permits are required, the police may not go to your residence or business if you are not at that location.
We do try to keep this list up to date. If you do not see the city in which you live listed, it is always a good practice to contact your city hall and ask about where and how you can get your alarm permit.
